British grandma's polite Google search is breaking internet

British grandma's polite Google search is breaking internet

people on internet -- or should we say internet people -- are known for many things but politeness isn't one of those. Not falling for the web lingo, a British grandma, however, has shown the world you can be polite on internet and win hearts.

A Twitter user Ben John recently shared a photo of a computer screen, actually a Google search page, which showed an unusual search query. The tweet read: "Omg opened my Nan's laptop and when she's googled something she's put 'please' and 'thank you'. I can't."
Grandma May Ashworth apparently sought Google's help with a Roman numeric. She asked Google, "please translate these roman numerals mcmxcviii thank you."
Later when Ben John asked his grandma why she used "thank you" and "please" in the search bar, she replied that she thought it was "the norm". Isn't she the most adorable grandma ever? Yes, she is!
In response to the tweet, it seems people have already started to learn manners. The photo has been re-tweeted over 17,000 times and liked by more than 26,000 people. Love for the polite grandma didn't just end there.
Many Twitter users posted "I love her", "Isn't this the cutest thing ever", and some even asked John if his grandmother could be their grandma as well.
The tweet has also caught attention of the big G. On Twitter, Google's global as well as the UK team commented on the tweet posted by John.

Dearest Ben's Nan.
Hope you're well.
In a world of billions of Searches, yours made us smile.
Oh, and it's 1998.
Thank YOU@Push10Ben
Google's global team, meanwhile, said, "Dear Grandma, No thanks necessary. ðŸ˜Å  Sincerely, Google."

Well, grandma Ashworth has proven there is no excuse for bad manners. And you can be polite and respectful to even a search engine. Not all heroes wear capes.
